 What
would anyone want to know about us? Well, let's see . .
.
We are really brothers, it's not just an act. We are
Robert and Darren Harper so the name of the act is very
fitting, great coincidence that eh? lol.
We were involved in and around the world of
entertainment from a very early age, our Dad is in the
business too so we saw how things worked and it was
everyday life for us.
We attended stage school but didn't work together
straight away when we finished there, we did our own
things for a short while.
Rob worked originally after leaving stage school as a
comedian and singer in the pubs and clubs and holiday
camps and theatres around the UK. Darren continued with
his love of music to form a band called Hitchcock
Railway and The Kid and toured internationally with them
until the time came in the year 2000 that brought us
both together.
At a charity event in 2000, we attended to do our bit
and after getting up on the stage together and feeling
the chemistry, the audience loved what they had seen and
it sparked the idea that this could be the beginning of
something great. We joined forces and have performed
together since, gaining a reputation that we are very
proud of and a growing number of followers each year.
 Since
then we been working together constantly and the work
has continued to pour in and very varied it has been
too. We work everywhere from Blackpool to Spain and
everywhere in-between.
We work
on dry land on on the high seas when performing on
various cruise ships. We too have had the privilege of
working with many big names of stage and screen
including Joe Longthorne, Cannon and Ball, Freddie
Starr, Johnny Casson and Peter Kay as well as many
others.
We have for the last four years been lucky enough to
work in the wonderful world of panto starring alongside
many great names and have enjoyed every single minute of
it.
As much as we enjoy our work and take great pride in
what we do, we love to spend quiet time at home with our
families too.
Our free time is very important to us as we both have
kids at home who we love to spend time with.
 Rob
is married to Paula, they have three lovely kids, Ben,
Bethany and Robert.
"I love
spending my time with Paula and the kids and going to
see Leeds United! I love gadgets too. Where music is
concerned I love Luther Vandross and, well, anything
current really, I love things like Most Haunted and any
police action type shows on TV."
Darren is married to Devi, they also have three great
kids, Jack, Charlie and Maisie Lou.
"I love
to play the X-Box with the lads and love to watch F1. I
love most music, I like books by Ian Rankin and Carl
Hiasson and watch TV shows such as Coronation Street,
24, Dragons Den and The Apprentice."
We hope that things continue the way that they are going
now, we are really enjoying our lives and our work and
if we can make people smile along the way, then all the
better. We are looking forward to 2009 being another
great year for us, we hope to bump into you somewhere
